Toxic positivity (Good Vibes Only).jpg

Good Vibes Only is a wearable installation based on personal experience, using the body as a medium to question the pressure to remain positive in contemporary society. The net-like material wraps around the body, creating a sense of entanglement and restriction. Sound is introduced through a mosquito-like buzzing, layered with softly repeated whispers of “good vibes only,” forming an intrusive and tiring auditory experience. This sound environment reflects how forced positivity can shift from comfort to pressure.

In this work, positivity no longer offers support, but becomes a constraint. Emotions that are ignored do not disappear, instead, they remain, repeat, and gradually become a form of limitation. When pain is silenced, happiness itself can turn into a subtle form of harm.
